Rebuilding lives. Together.

Campus Ambassador

What is Duet?

Duet is an online philanthropic platform that enables donors to provide meaningful aid to vulnerable families in a more dignified, efficient, and personal way. Families request the exact items they need to rebuild their lives, and donors pay for those items on their behalf. We currently provide support to refugee families in Greece, and are actively expanding to COVID-19 relief in LA as well.

Who is Duet?

We are a group of 7 USC students and recent graduates who are building Duet out of the Innovation in Engineering Design for Global Challenges class. We have been operating since March 2019. Since then, we have facilitated over $40,000 in donations and built a donor community of over 350 members.

Duet has been featured in Viterbi News and Marshall News.

Duet is currently registered as a nonprofit, and is pending 501(c)(3) status.

The Role

Duet is looking for an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and collaborative campus lead to help us establish Duet’s presence in colleges across the US. You will play a central role in expanding the campus presence of an agile nonprofit organization that is serious about using technology for social good.

You will:

  • Seek out and engage campus-specific partners that are open to collaborative opportunities (e.g. student organizations, professors, and local establishments)
  • Plan and execute events to increase awareness of Duet on your campus
  • Create marketing and promotional materials to increase traffic at these events
  • Collaborate with the Head of College Expansion with all event concepts and promotions
  • Contribute to short-term and long-term donor acquisition and retention discussions

This position might be a great fit if:

  • You have prior experience hosting and planning events
  • You understand the pulse of your campus and what would make a great partnership
  • A detail orientated self starter who can work independently
  • An entrepreneurial thinker that sees potential in different opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines

Why Duet?

Duet offers an opportunity to improve real lives, solve hard problems, and to make the world a smaller, friendlier place. You will gain firsthand experience with all parts of a social impact start-up (a great resume boost!) while being a part of a supportive and engaged team of fellow changemakers who are determined to make this a sustainable long-term venture. Join us in doing good, better.
